SM2 Spring 2010

Japanese brand SM2 is loved by mori girls everywhere. The brand's image closely echoes mori girls' chosen lifestyle, with its soothing images and rustic settings.

SM2's Spring 2010 collection is a subtle departure from the outdoorsy vibe present in its 2009 collections. The pictures in the latest catalogue create a more demure and domestic atmosphere.

Instead of exploring the great outdoors, the SM2 girl now settles down in a home filled with quaint furniture. Instead of picking apples outside, this season the SM2 girl bakes bread indoors.

The collection is characterised by SM2's signature loose silhouettes, this time in pale, creamy shades and accented with patterned socks and scarves.

I really love those sandals the model is wearing. This SM2 collection strikes me as much sweeter than the previous one. What do you think?

  11. The Hausfrau: Yes, love clogs! You may want to check out Funkis, which I posted about before. http://morigirl.blogspot.com/2009/10/funkis-clogs.html

Lyric: Hmm, that's a good question! Given mori girls' penchant for vintage and antique items, I'm sure a few mori girls out there are wearing long, old-fashioned night gowns. Personally, I (much more unromantically) wear pyjama pants (striped, checked or with little animals all over) or knee socks with shorts depending on the weather.

Mignonette: Ah yes, socks are one of the greatest pleasures of winter. :)

Sundari: Yes, I always say mori girl is more of a state of mind than just a look. Maybe that's why many of us feel such an affinity to the lifestyle.

tokyosista: Me too, I consistently love the SM2 catalogue!

    Giovanna ♥: Agreed! :)

Helsbells: You are very welcome! :)

ashleymoe: Oh, I wish I could lay claim to having made the mori girl book! I'm just an awed reader, like you. I do think you should intern for a similar magazine if it interests you, though!

Lala Mori: Heh, since your last name is Mori, it seems that you were born to be a mori girl. :)

tinypaperheart: That is very kind of you! :)

Saffron Panda: I first started doing research on the style sometime last year, so not very long, but I've been in love with it since!

  13. I adore this line and these beautiful photos. I also love companies that sit down and design their wearer and then design the clothes for her, it's such a beautiful idea.

  14. meisha: I didn't know what Swedish hasbeens were so I googled them--love the look!

lavienouveau: So much more inspiring isn't it? I always admire the elaborate concepts Japanese clothing brands manage to come up with.
